Who is the Christian Jesus Christ, the “savior of all mankind,” “the prince of peace” , the one who supposedly loves everyone, and why did the Jews reject him? The Jewish take on Jesus…one who invites to idolatry by claiming to be divine is blasphemy. The Talmud is in agreement with the Gospel of John on his claims. The only difference is that one book says that it is the Truth and one says that human claims of divinity are shirk and blasphemous, which is in-line with the Qur’an’s view of Trinity, etc. The difference with Islam is that the Qur’an says that he did not claim any of that and that is why Muslims can believe in Jesus as a Prophet, in that it is entirely a different Jesus (other than the miracles) than the one that the Gospels and Talmud make him out to be. If you really want to learn the Christian (and Jewish) version of Jesus, please read this webpage.

I will start with some of his quotes from the Gospels, and then I will go on to the writing of Paul, namely the epistles.  He was convicted by the Jews of Blasphemy (Arrogance against God) by claiming that he was the unique divine son of God.

Here is Jesus talking to his mother, Maryam:

Jhn 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Muslims should remember that historically the Jesus that Jews rejected is the Christian Jesus because according to the Gospels, he claimed to be the divine son of God and he broke the laws of Moses.  Now even according to Islam, if someone claimed to be the divine son of God and broke the laws of God, we would also reject him.  The Qur’anic Jesus is quite different from the Gospel Jesus!

Jhn 5:16-18: And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things (cure people) on the sabbath day.  But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.  Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Jhn 6:35

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Jhn 6:40-42

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.  And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

Jhn 6:51-52  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?

John 6:53-57, "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.   Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me."

Jhn 7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

Jhn 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Jesus hated the Jews who did not believe in him

Jhn 8:12-13

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  The Pharisees (sect of Jews) therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

Jhn 8:23

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

Jhn 8:37-43

I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, [even] God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.

Jhn 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Jhn 8:51-53

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

Jhn 8:56-59

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.

---

Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
